Chef's Bio
Erick began his career at the Hudson Club in Chicago in 1996. He joined the opening team at mk in 1998. Erick was a quick study and quickly became Chef Kornick's protege and "go-to" Chef for all special events in and out of the restaurant. Erick and Chef Kornick have travelled around the country cooking at events for the last decade.
He has successfully worked as Sous Chef at mk under Chef's Giuseppe Scuarto, Todd Stein and Erick Simmons over the last 6 years. During that time he has been influenced by many others, including Chefs Keller, Trotter and Batalli. Today Erick's cusine has come into its very own. He has cultivated working relationships with many of Chicago's best available producers of local produce, dairy, poultry and meat. He is a passionate shopper always searching for the very best.
Having the opportunity to direct the kitchen is a dream come true. We are all anticipating a great future for mk as one of our truly original Chefs takes the helm creating menus with Chef Kornick.
