Preparation

  1. Add pomegranate syrup, toasted walnut-infused bourbon, orange bitters, and POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice into a cocktail mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube.
  3. Express the citrus oils from an orange peel and discard. Garnish with a walnut.

Pomegranate Syrup:

  1. Add POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice and sugar into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer until sugar dissolves.
  2. Let cool. Can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Toasted Walnut Infused Bourbon:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F degrees and lay the walnuts in a single layer on a sheet tray.
  2. Toast in the oven until fragrant and golden brown, about 8- to 10 minutes.
  3. Set them aside and let cool. Add the toasted walnuts and bourbon to a jar and let it sit for 24 hours in a cool, dark place.
  4. Strain the bourbon through a damp coffee filter-lined sieve into a clean jar.

Ingredients

  • ½ oz. pomegranate syrup
  • 2 oz. toasted walnut-infused bourbon**
  • 3-4 dashes orange bitters
  • bar spoon of POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
  • Expressed and discarded orange peel and walnut for garnish

Pomegranate Syrup -

  • ½ cup POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
  • ½ cup organic cane sugar

Toasted Walnut Infused Bourbon -

  • 1 cup toasted walnuts
  • 2 cups bourbon
